The return capsule of the Shenzhou-13 manned spaceship, which carried three Chinese astronauts back to Earth on April 16, was opened and unloaded on Tuesday, according to the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA).

Items brought back weigh 73 kilograms, including a number of experiment equipment, crop seeds, commemorative stamps, paintings by Hong Kong teenagers, and two 8K high-definition memory cards carrying images and videos taken by the astronauts in orbit.

Two 8K cameras developed by China Media Group (CMG) were sent to the China Space Station on the Tianzhou-3 cargo spacecraft on September 20, 2021. The two cameras are capable of taking full-frame pictures and recording videos at 50 frames per second.

These videos are of the highest technical standards ever taken in space in human history and will be incorporated in CMG's documentary "Into Space."

Previously, a Russian film crew of actor Yulia Peresild and director Klim Shipenko spent 12 days aboard the International Space Station and filmed for the first feature-length drama made with scenes shot in space.

The Shenzhou-13 crew of Zhai Zhigang, Wang Yaping and Ye Guangfu used the 8K cameras to film each other and the "first attempts" they made in their mission.

The Shenzhou-13 trio were taken to the space station from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwestern China on October 16, 2021, and returned safely on April 16. Engineers started dismantling and examining devices in the capsule, and have performed tests and verification works since then.
