Mayi Island is located in the heart of the Dalian Spotted Seal National Nature Reserve. Unlike the alluvial area of the Liaohe River Estuary, this area is strewn with reefs and abounds with myriad fish species. For spotted seals, it offers both a sanctuary on the journey to adulthood and an ideal habitat for their annual migration.
