The static display of the KJ-200 and KJ-500 early-warning planes is drawing attention at the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force aviation open house and air show in Changchun City, northeast China's Jilin Province.
The air show, running from August 26 to 30, also features the debut of the YY-20, or Yunyou-20, China's new-generation aerial refueling aircraft.
Improving the strategic early warning capability is a matter of national air-space security, and it's also necessary to safeguard national sovereignty, security and territorial integrity, PLA Air Force spokesman Senior Colonel Shen Jinke told reporters in Changchun on Sunday.
Speaking of the H-6K bombers' patrols around Taiwan island, Shen said regular patrols are being conducted and will continue in the future.
