The Altai Mountains, located in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, are known as the "Golden Mountains" for their rich mineral resources. The mountain range embraces lakes like Kanas and Yaze, alpine meadows and taiga forests, and is home to diverse flora and fauna. The Altai Mountains represent the most complete sequence of altitudinal vegetation zones in central Siberia, and are considered to be one of the most attractive places in Xinjiang.
