The United States has imposed fresh sanctions related to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) under which it has designated two individuals and three entities, the Treasury Department said on its website on Friday in wake of recent missiles launches from the DPRK.

Friday's action targeted two Singapore-registered companies, Anfasar Trading (S) Pte. Ltd. and Swanseas Port Services Pte. Ltd., as well as a Marshall Islands-registered company, the New Eastern Shipping Co. Ltd.

The two individuals are Singapore-based Kwek Kee Seng and Taiwan-based Chen Shih Huan.

It's said the two individuals and three entities were designated for activities related to the exportation of petroleum to the DPRK, which directly supports the development of DPRK weapons programs and its military.
