October is usually a happy and busy time for apple growers in Luochuan County, Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province. Lu Guoshu, director of Yan'an Fruit Industry Center said, "Apples lift us out of poverty and bring us wealth and happiness". Huang Lirong, director of the Yan'an Rural Revitalization Administration said that since 2017, the city has been promoting the characteristic agricultural industry dominated by apples, and fostered two regional brands, "Luochuan Apple" and "Yan'an Apple". The brands have brought poor households out of poverty and ensured value-added earnings are shared across the whole industrial chain.
