Qinghai Lake is situated amongst formidable mountainous terrain. Tianjun Mountain, which lies to the northwest is one of thirteen nearby peaks. Sheer rocky slopes covered in vegetation give way to a stretch of grassland, a treasure trove of biodiversity.
A Himalayan griffon and a bearded vulture lurk in the cliffs not far off. Now, they're scanning far and wide for potential sources of food.
