ICVs passing the entry test will conduct road tests in designated areas in pilot cities, the notice said.
It also listed detailed requirements for car manufacturers, ICVs, pilot cities and users of ICVs.
The notice emphasized security in the selection of pilot manufacturers, saying they should possess the ability to ensure cyber security, data security, and software upgrading, as well as a platform to monitor the security of ICVs.
The notice also required the pilot cities to have qualified infrastructures such as in transportation and telecommunication, to be able to carry out ICVs' road tests.
