The frozen plateau stands deserted in winter. At the altitude of 4,500 meters, Changshagongma National Nature Reserve is covered with thick snow. From a distance, one can see a herd of vigorous red-brown quadrupeds braving the chilly wind. They are the Tibetan wild asses, known locally as "wild horse," arguably the most distinctive animal in the nature reserve.

In this series, we take you to the frozen land to discover how the creatures struggle to survive the freezing season.
