The 14th NPC deputies were elected from 35 electoral units of China's provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions. Authorities say the elections are of great significance to develop China's whole-process people's democracy. Professor Xia Lu from the School of Marxism Studies, Renmin University of China, says whole-process people's democracy is the main feature of China's democracy.
