(On April 16, firefighters were still battling the forest fire blazing in parts of Yulong Naxi Autonomous County in Lijiang, southwest China's Yunnan Province.)
A wildfire broke out in Tacheng Town on April 11 afternoon and was later fanned by strong winds.
As of 6:30 a.m., on the morning on April 15, flames on the eastern, western and northern fronts were brought under control.
Billowing plumes of thick smoke could still be seen at times, and concerted efforts are being made on the southwestern front to extinguish the remaining fire.
The Southern General Station of Aerial Forest Protection under the Ministry of Emergency Management also dispatched six helicopters to participate in the operation.
（Except for 5 scattered smoking spots, the open fire was put out on Saturday night, with no reports of deaths or injuries.)
When the open fire was put out, Fire Detachment of Lijiang quickly followed up, cleaning the remaining smoke points and fallen wood. After six days of hard work, the fire was completely extinguished at 7:00 a.m., April 17. There's no open fire, no smoke or any other potential risks. Staff continue the cleaning and monitoring work.
The reason for the forest fire is still under investigation.
