A series of cutting-edge sci-tech achievements have been released at the 2023 Zhongguancun Forum that began on Thursday in Beijing's Zhongguancun, known as "China's Silicon Valley."

The achievements include tech breakthroughs like a 256-core accelerator chip targeting blockchains, tech applications like the quantum computing cloud in Beijing and scientific studies like how COVID-19 escapes humans' immune systems.

The fact that a growing number of international sci-tech organizations are setting up their headquarters in Beijing was also highlighted by the forum organizers. Organizations adopting this new trend include the International Hydrogen Fuel Cell Association, the World Robot Cooperation Organization and the International Coalition of Intelligent Manufacturing.

Themed "Open Cooperation for a Shared Future," the event is slated to host over 150 activities, including conferences, exhibitions, technology transactions, outcome news releases and competitions.

"A new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation is accelerating," Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang told the forum. "China is willing to actively participate in global innovation cooperation and share the results of innovation development with countries around the world."

The large gathering has attracted guests from more than 80 countries and regions, as well as the participation of almost 200 international organizations, institutions and foreign government departments.

Nearly 120 leading experts from China and beyond are scheduled to attend the event and deliver keynote speeches.
