There are about 1,500 western black-crested gibbons in the world. The critically endangered species is under first-class state protection in China. To better protect and monitor the gibbons, the first challenge is to let them get used to humans. Located in Wuliang Mountains National Nature Reserve is China's first field monitoring station for these gibbons. Batches of monitors follow the rhythm of the gibbons.
