At the 2022 World Kickboxing Championships, the gold medal in the junior female category was won by 17-year-old Maria from Greece. Her father, Michael, is a dock worker based at the Piraeus Port in Greece. He is also her coach. Michael not only plans his daughter's diet and training regime, but also raises funds for her to participate in competitions. In these efforts, he is supported by his employer, Piraeus Port Authority / PPA S.A. – COSCO SHPPING, which has helped Michael and Maria's championship dream come true.
