The Chinese mountain cat is a feline unique to China, living around the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau. Sometimes it appears at the herdsman's house and is mistaken for a house cat. But the mountain cat is bigger. The tuft at its ear tip is a featured badge. Its wild instinct drives it into the vast land as an aloof hunter. This nocturnal species roams about only at dawn and dusk, and in the evening. It had been staying out of sight until a decade ago, when people started to know about it. It is the most mysterious animal in this wilderness.
