Originating in the Jurassic Period, the golden chicken fern is an ancient species that is under national second-class protection in China. The golden fluff that covers the above-ground stems is an amazing natural bandage for healing wounds. When animals are injured, they rub the fluff on the wound to stop the bleeding. About 'Journeys in Nature: Guangdong Maoming Series'
Maoming City is a biodiversity hub in south China's Guangdong Province. Leaning against the Yunkai Mountains, one of the largest mountain ranges in Guangdong, and facing the South China Sea, the city is endowed with a wet tropical climate, which has attracted numerous wild animal and plant species.
