A leap, a bend, and then a splash as you plunge into spine-tingling water – this is what winter swimmers in China perfect as they seek out their annual fix of chilly aquatics. These winter swimmers leapt from platforms into the freezing waters of Waitan Xueren Wharf in the Daoli District of Harbin, Heilongjiang Province as many other daredevils do across the more wintry parts of the country. Temperatures had hit minus 17 degrees Celsius in the northeastern Chinese city earlier this week.
