Waiting for Omer's return home

04:04

Omer Shem Tov, aged 21, was among the hostages taken by Hamas on October 7. He wasn't released during the truce agreement and is one of 138 captives still held by Hamas in Gaza.

We met Omer's parents, at the Hostage Family Assistance Center in Tel Aviv. It's been 65 days since Omer was abducted. Omer's parents kept his room messy just as it had been on October 7.

According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), from October 7 to December 19, 19,667 Palestinians in Gaza lost their lives. Over 1,200 Israelis and foreign nationals were killed in Israel. 1.9 million Gazans have fled their homes.
