Banyans are known for their longevity. "People don't witness banyan saplings grow, yet banyans see generations of people come and go." Among these ancient banyans in Yangjiaxi Village in southeast China's Fujian Province, the oldest is more than 800 years old, and the youngest has been there for more than a century. You can share the same shade under this banyan tree as your ancestors.
About Journeys in Nature: Eastern Fujian Series
The coastal regions in east China's Fujian Province are rich in biodiversity. Goats endemic to the region climb to the top of the seaside mountains to graze. Sea birds circle the cliffs where their nests have been built. In this series, CGTN Nature will take you to where the mountains meet the ocean.
