Recently, the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary held a hearing. Shou Zi Chew, a Singaporean businessman and entrepreneur who has served as the CEO of TikTok since 2021, was questioned by U.S. Senator Tom Cotton, who repeatedly asked him if he was Chinese. Last March, when Shou Zi Chew attended the hearing of the Committee of Energy and Commerce, he was grilled by more than 50 U.S. lawmakers over TikTok's Chinese background.
