At their summit in Kazakhstan on Thursday, members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) adopted the Astana Declaration.

According to the declaration, SCO members reaffirm their commitment to building a new type of international relations and a community with a shared future for mankind.

The unilateral and unrestricted strengthening of global anti-missile systems jeopardizes international security and stability, said the declaration.

It calls on SCO members to oppose a confrontational mindset in resolving international and regional issues.

SCO members strongly condemn acts causing massive civilian casualties and humanitarian disasters in Gaza, it said, adding that seeking security at the expense of others is unacceptable.

The declaration also said Qingdao City in east China's Shandong Province will be the SCO tourist and cultural capital for 2024 and 2025.
