Green and Low-Carbon Development: The key to modernization

On August 15, China's National Ecology Day, over 100 scholars, experts and diplomats from 36 countries and regions gathered in Beijing to attend the International Symposium on Environment, Development and Human Rights: Green and Low-Carbon Development in the Process of Modernization. During the meeting, Wang Gang, the deputy minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said the greening and low-carbonization of economic and social development are fundamental aspects of modern development. He added that these reflect the aspirations of people around the world for a better life and are essential for achieving sustainable human development, comprehensive human progress and advancing global human rights.
