Illiteracy eradication project in Egypt wins Confucius literacy prize

Dr Amr Gabr, a representative of Egypt's Illiteracy Eradication Project, which won the 2024 UNESCO Confucius Prize for Literacy, spoke to CGTN during the opening ceremony of the 2024 China International Confucius Culture Festival and the 19th UNESCO Confucius Prize for Literacy awards ceremony. The event took place in Qufu City, east China's Shandong Province, on September 27. Qufu, the birthplace of the Chinese philosopher Confucius, has long been a popular destination for tourists.
