Nestled in the southern island province of Hainan, Mt. Jianfeng National Forest Park stands as a significant jewel of tropical biodiversity in China. With a landscape ranging from mist-covered peaks to dense, humid valleys, Mt. Jianfeng represents one of the most well-preserved tropical rainforests in the country. The park is known for its rich diversity of plant species, many of which are rarely seen elsewhere, making it a living repository of tropical flora.

Mt. Jianfeng is also home to a variety of fauna, including some of the most unique and endangered species in China, such as the Hainan gibbon, which is considered critically endangered and is under first-class state protection in the country. The dense canopy and multi-layered ecosystem provide habitats for countless insects, birds and mammals, each contributing to the park's dynamic biodiversity.

Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park, which includes Mt. Jianfeng, reflects a broader government effort to preserve these rare ecological systems. Conservation programs focus on restoring native vegetation, safeguarding animal populations, and ensuring the sustainable use of the forest's resources. Integrating local communities into these conservation efforts also helps to balance ecological protection with sustainable livelihoods.

As one of the few remaining stretches of true tropical rainforest in China, Mt. Jianfeng offers a glimpse into the ancient, untouched wilderness of the past – a place where wildlife, from delicate orchids to majestic gibbons, continues to thrive under the careful stewardship of ongoing conservation efforts.
