The leader of China's Taiwan region, Lai Ching-te, just completed his trip to "diplomatic allies" in the Pacific and spoke with former U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi during a transit "stopover" in Hawaii.
CGTN Stringer asked people in the Taiwan region about Lai's visit and cross-Straits relations. A local surnamed Lin said, "Him going out is just like putting on a show. He doesn't understand the suffering of the people. He only cares about his own interests."
Another resident, referring to cross-Straits relations, said, "I think it is better to communicate with each other in a friendly manner."
