Iranian, Russian and Turkish foreign ministers met in Doha as part of the Astana Process, seeking a political solution to Syria's conflict. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that they agreed on the need for an immediate end to the fighting. Iran's Abbas Araqchi concurred, while Türkiye's Hakan Fidan reiterated Ankara's stance that Bashar al-Assad must engage with the Syrian people for a political solution. Türkiye denied involvement in the rebel operation and emphasized the importance of preventing a new wave of migrants fleeing the violence.
