Rita Santos, president of the Macao Civil Servants' Association, shared her thoughts in the program: "In 1995, we chose to remain in Macao rather than integrate into the Portuguese government or accept a pension to leave. This decision has proven beneficial, as we receive strong support from both the Macao SAR government and the central government, allowing us to preserve our unique culture."
"Staying enabled us to continue traditions, such as maintaining connections with friends from Portuguese-speaking countries. Living in Macao has been fulfilling, and I am grateful for the opportunities and support we have receive," she added.
