China and Peru have long histories and splendid ancient civilizations. The interaction between the two countries began in the 17th century, and Chinese immigrants have continuously integrated into Peruvian society. In November 2016, Chinese President Xi Jinping visited the National Museum of Archaeology, Anthropology and History of Peru. CGTN returned to the museum to meet its director, Rafael Varón Gabai, along with Rubén Tang, former director of Confucius Institute, Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP), and Rodrigo Campos, director of Tusanaje project. They talked about the significant role of cultural exchanges in promoting the development of China-Peru and China-Latin America relations.
