M6.8 earthquake in Xizang: What we know so far

– Damaged roads have been repaired and power restored in Dingri County's urban area and several townships.

– Medical teams from the military and local institutions have arrived for search and rescue.

– The Ministry of Emergency Management has allocated 1,850 personnel and three helicopters to facilitate rescue efforts.

– As of 9 p.m. Tuesday, 126 people have been confirmed dead and 188 injured, including 28 who are critical. Over 3,600 homes have been damaged.

– As of 10:08 p.m. Tuesday, 30,400 locals had been relocated to 14 temporary settlements.

– As of 10 a.m. Wednesday, over 660 aftershocks had been recorded, with the maximum one hitting a magnitude of 4.4.

– The first batch of 34 mobile shelters arrived in the quake-hit area on Tuesday night, with another 1,200 scheduled to reach on Wednesday, to help relocated residents.
