Chengkan, in Huangshan City, east China's Anhui Province, has put up banners celebrating the upcoming Year of the Snake.

The name and structure of the village are influenced by the "I Ching," or Book of Changes, which introduces the concepts of yin and yang. "Cheng" represents yang, while "Kan" represents yin. Additionally, Chengkan is surrounded by eight mountains, mirroring the eight directions of "Bagua," also known as the Eight Diagrams. An "S"-shaped river flows through the village, forming the pattern of the tai chi diagram. The village features three main streets and 99 interwoven lanes, creating a maze-like layout where first-time visitors may easily lose their way.
