Quake-affected people move into prefabricated houses in Xizang

00:52

More than 1,000 sets of prefabricated houses donated from across China were delivered to resettlement sites on Saturday in Changsuo Township and Cuoguo Township in Dingri County, the epicenter of the magnitude-6.8 earthquake that hit Xizang Autonomous Region on Tuesday.

Construction of the houses is now being stepped up at many resettlement sites. The overall structure of these houses is foldable, and one can be built in 8 minutes. At present, affected people are moving from temporary tents to the newly constructed homes. Each prefabricated house has 18 square meters to accommodate four to five people, is equipped with folding beds, a table and a stove, and is connected to the power grid.
