Lei Jun, founder and CEO of China's tech giant Xiaomi, said on Wednesday that he is determined to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) technology into end products.

Lei made the remarks while speaking to the media at the Deputies' Corridor before the opening of the third session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature.

"We are committed to the path of sci-tech innovation and high-quality development, fostering new quality productive forces by integrating the latest AI technology into various end products and enabling consumers to experience the wonderful life brought by technology," said Lei, who is also an NPC deputy.

Founded 15 years ago, Xiaomi has risen to be one of the top phone companies in the world, selling 170 million units in 2024, according to Lei. It ventured into the car manufacturing business last year, and its SU7's performance surpasses some of the world's top-notch race cars with only a third of their price.

Prior to the launch of Xiaomi's SU7 Ultra last week, Porsche publicly applauded it for breaking the Shanghai Circuit lap record in a post on Chinese social media platform Weibo.

Lei was also among the representatives attending the recent symposium on China's private enterprises.
