19 killed, 30 injured after bus overturns in S China

Nineteen people were killed and another 30 wounded after a bus overturned on a highway linking the cities of Guangzhou and Heyuan in south China's Guangdong Province on Thursday afternoon.

The incident took place at around 1:00 p.m. local time, and rescue work concluded three hours later.

All of the injured were hospitalized for medical treatment.

According to initial investigation at the scene, the coach carrying 49 people was not loaded to maximum capacity.

Investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
