Chinese President Xi Jinping met Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev in Moscow on Tuesday, highlighting bilateral cooperation in trade, investment and energy.
Xi said both countries have made a number of achievements by expanding cooperation in trade and investment, despite sluggish economic growth and a downturn in the global investment and trade.
China and Russia should continue to support each other and expand cooperation in order to promote world peace, stability and development, said Xi.

Xi said Russia is an important partner in the Belt and Road Initiative and both sides should upgrade cooperation in trade, investment and energy.
He specified high-speed rail constructions, urging for an early launch of the Moscow-Kazan railway line. The project is intended to be the first section of a transnational high-speed railway connecting Beijing and Moscow.
Medvedev said the bilateral relations conform with the interests of both peoples and contributes to global peace and development.
The Russian prime minister said Russia is willing to maintain high-level communication with China and to expand cooperation in several areas.
Xi Jinping is currently on a two-day state visit to Russia before heading to Germany to attend the G20 Summit in Hamburg.
