Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said he had a "very candid discussion" with US President Donal Trump on Thursday.
Senior fellow at the China Institute of International Studies Yang Xiyu says Japan is getting more and more active in supporting the US’s goal to check China, so that in return it could rise again as a military power in the Pacific region and globally.
