For the Chinese, gathering for a feast during festivals hold special significance. And for this family, it's the same even if they're from different ethic groups. 66-year-old Han Chinese Cai Jinyu found Uygur Li Dandan abandoned at a market in 2001, and immediately took her in. Today, the family celebrates every Muslim festival together, including Eid al-Fitr, when Cai invites her biological children to come home. The family have even changed their lifestyle since Li entered their home, with pork never appearing in their kitchen ever again.
