US President Donald Trump's new polices on Cuba will affect US-Latin American relations, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla said on Monday.
The foreign minister made the remark at a press conference in Vienna during his visit to Austria. The new measures will damage bilateral relations, Parrilla warned, adding the detente rollback will impact cooperatives and private-sector workers as well as state firms.
He added Cuba will continue to work with the majority of Americans towards better bilateral ties.
President Trump announced on Friday that he was “canceling” Washington's policy towards Cuba, put in place by his predecessor Barack Obama. He ordered tighter restrictions on Americans’ traveling to Cuba and on US business dealing with the commercial arm of the Cuban military.
Havana considered the new restrictions a "setback" in US-Cuban relations, which it said will not succeed in their goal of weakening the revolution.
