This year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
The CPPCC is neither a government agency nor a policymaking body. It is composed of members of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and non-Communist parties, citizens without party affiliation, representatives of ethnic groups and various social groups, compatriots from Taiwan, and the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions, returned overseas Chinese, and specially invited public figures.
