Gennady Golovkin (39-1-1, 35KOs) may be approaching the end of his career, but he proved he still had it in him, by knocking down Canadian Steve Rolls (19-1-0, 10KOs) in the fourth round of a middleweight bout at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Saturday night.

As one of the best boxers of the generation, the 37-year-old Kazakh showed his real power after warming up in the first three rounds, and quickly ended the match with his symbolic little left hook with one minute left in Round 4.

It was a negotiated match, as the 35-year-old Rolls' weight was above the limit of 164 pounds.

Golovkin said in a pre-match interview with DAZN that, "If I beat Steve Rolls, I am 99 percent sure I will fight Canelo Alvarez in September."

The first two matches between Golovkin and Alvarez resulted in one draw and one loss for Golovkin, with the second one resulting in him losing the WBC/WBA world middleweight belts.
