The 2018 Asian Games will feature many sports that aren't included in the Olympics, but are native to Asia.
Contract Bridge, Paragliding and Jet Skiing are also making their first appearance at the Games.
Contract Bridge, or simply Bridge, is a trick-taking card game using a standard 52-card deck. The oldest athlete in the event is reported to be an 81-year-old player from Malaysia.
Paragliding was for many years an adventure sport for flight enthusiasts. Paragliders are much lighter and aerodynamic than parachutes. They're designed to go up rather than down. Both cross-country and accuracy paragliding events will be held at this year's Games.
While "Jet Ski" is a brand name for Kawasaki's personal watercraft, it also refers to any type of the machine, which until now was mainly used for recreation. It's great for developing balance and coordination skills, as users have to concentrate to stay on board. The jet skiing contests will be held at Ancol Beach, Jakarta's main beach resort.
