Trump-Kim summit: The big moments from the past 72 hours

The second summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) leader Kim Jong Un abruptly ended on Thursday without an agreement.
Here is how the Trump-Kim Vietnam summit unfolded.
Kim was the first to arrive in Hanoi on Tuesday, completing the last part of his trip to the city by a car after a three-day, 4,000-km journey from Pyongyang to Dong Dang at the Vietnam-China border via train.
Hours after his arrival, Kim visited his country's embassy in Hanoi.
Trump landed in Hanoi at about 9:00 p.m. local time (14:00 GMT) and on Wednesday before the summit, Trump met Vietnam's President and Secretary-General of the Communist Party, Nguyen Phu Trong as well as the country's Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
At around 6:30 p.m. local time (11:30 GMT), the two leaders reunited after eight months with a handshake at Sofitel Legend Metropole hotel.

They met for around two hours, with 20 minutes allotted for one-on-one talks and a "social dinner" accompanied by two close aides and interpreters.
The second day's meeting started at 10:00 a.m. local time (3:00 GMT) with a one-on-one chat, after which they took a stroll through the hotel.
Things then took a change. While the expanded bilateral meetings continued, the White House suddenly announced the summit had ended two hours early.
Lunch was canceled, along with a planned signing ceremony. Both leaders separately left the Metropole hotel before 2:30 p.m. local time (7:30 GMT).

At the press conference, Trump admitted the summit did not reach an agreement blaming that "it was all about the sanctions."

Trump then did not spend a minute more in Hanoi, immediately flying back to Washington D.C.
Kim, however, is scheduled to stay in Vietnam for a goodwill visit through Saturday.
