Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Toshihiro Nikai, general secretary of Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party, in Beijing on Wednesday. President Xi Jinping welcomed Japan to actively participate in the construction of the Belt and Road alongside China's reform and opening-up. President Xi hoped the two countries can promote bilateral cooperation in various areas at a higher level. Nikai gave a signed letter from Abe to President Xi. Nikai that said the BRI is a grand idea with great potential.
