The state broadcaster of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has aired a documentary film about the country's leader Kim Jong Un's recent trip to Russia for a summit with President Vladimir Putin, highlighting their strong relations amid stalled denuclearization talks between Pyongyang and Washington, South Korean news agency Yonhap reported on Monday.

According to the media outlet, the 50-minute-long documentary, aired on the Korean Central TV Broadcasting Station on Sunday night, came a day after Kim returned to the DPRK from his trip to Vladivostok in the Russian Far East.

In Vladivostok, Kim and Putin held their first-ever summit on Thursday to discuss denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and their bilateral ties.

"(Kim's trip to Russia) is a historic event that has paved the way for an innovative turnaround that will further enhance traditional, good-faith and cooperative relations in accordance with the demand from a new era under the new situations. And it will shine in the solidarity history of North Korea (DPRK) and Russia," Yonhap cited the documentary as saying.

But Yonhap also pointed out that the film made no mention of the denuclearization.

During the summit, Kim stressed that peace and security on the Korean Peninsula will entirely depend on future U.S. attitude.

Russia and the DPRK agreed to more closely promote mutual understanding and bonds, and boost strategic collaboration to ensure regional peace and security, DPRK state media KCNA reported earlier.

Putin said after the summit that he thought a deal on Pyongyang's nuclear program was possible and that the way to get there was to move forward step by step in order to build trust.

But any U.S. guarantees might need to be supported by the other nations involved in previous six-way talks on the nuclear issue, Putin added.

Russia and the DPRK also agreed to take measures to further cooperate in trade, economy, science and technology, KCNA said.
