Nicolas Cage at 2018 SIFF: A good story is the basis for film

The 21st Shanghai International Film Festival raised its curtain on Saturday evening at the Shanghai Grand Theater with a star-studded red carpet and a grand opening ceremony.
Hundreds of film celebrities from home and abroad walked down the red carpet, including Chinese mainland actress Li Bingbing, Austrian actor Christoph Waltz, and American actor Nicolas Cage.

Nicolas Cage, an American actor, director, and film producer, shared his thoughts on film production at a press conference for the Shanghai International Film Festival on Saturday.
Cage said that a good story was the basis for any successful film. "Simply because I love the movie and I love telling stories," Cage stated.

"In my professional time, I found people involved in the film industry, creating movies simply because they care about their movies," Cage added.
He also shared the trailer for his new movie “Primal.”
Nicolas Cage has starred in a variety of films familiar to Chinese audiences including “The Rock,” “Next” and “Face Off.” In 1996, he won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in “Leaving Las Vegas.”
The film festival will run till June 25. In addition to film competition for the Golden Goblet Awards and Asian New Talent Awards, film panorama, film forums, SIFF project and an international film market will also take place.
