Xiang Junbo, chairman of China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC), has been removed from his post for severe disciplinary violations, reported Xinhua News Agency on Sunday, citing the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
On April 9, the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) placed Xiang, who also sat as the party chief of the CIRC, under investigation for suspected violations of discipline.
Xiang took office at the CIRC in October 2011. He previously served as head of Agricultural Bank of China.
