The vehicle collided with pedestrians in north London after people had just finished attending late-night prayers at Finsbury Park Mosque around midnight on Monday.
At least one was killed and 10 others were injured in what police have called a "major incident".
Police said the attack took place at the same time as crowds had been helping a man who had collapsed outside the mosque. He later died, but it is not clear if his death was directly caused by the attack.

The family of the man arrested on suspicion of "attempted murder and terror offences" said they were "shocked" and "devastated", BBC reports.
Father-of-four Darren Osborne was taken to a south London police station where he remains in custody. He has further been arrested for the commission, preparation or instigation of terrorism including murder and attempted murder, police said in a statement on Monday.
