Song Ranping, Climate Action Manager of the World Resources Institute, shared his thoughts on Trump’s withdrawal in Paris Climate Accord on Friday.

Song told CGTN's Elaine Reyes that Trump’s actions may compromise the relationship between China and the US.

Since the rest of the world is coming together to invest in new energy, it may be very hard for the US to continue playing a global leadership role without being a part of the accord.

At the end of the interview, Song stated that he believes the US will eventually come back to the negotiating table, but it might be too late.
