China will hand over aid materials worth 15 million yuan (about 2.2 million US dollars) to flood-hit Sri Lanka to assist the rescue work, announced China's Ministry of Commerce on Sunday.
The goods, including tents and blankets, will be sent to Sri Lanka as soon as possible, according to the ministry.
Unusually heavy rain earlier this week triggered floods and mudslides in the southern and western parts of the country, killing at least 151 people, AFP reported citing government spokesman Rajitha Senaratne.
A total of 111 people are still listed as missing, Senaratne said.
