UK police on Sunday arrested 12 people in connection with Saturday night's London Bridge attack, in which at least seven people were killed and 48 injured.
In a statement, London's Metropolitan Police said the 12 people were arrested in Barking, east London, and that a number of addresses in the area were being searched.
According to AFP, there were several police vehicles outside a block of flats that had been cordoned off.
It has been previously reported that four men and a woman who were arrested before had been released.
AFP reported that four women wearing Islamic veils over their faces were seen being led away by police, although it was not clear whether they were among those arrested.
Three men rammed a van through crowds of pedestrians on London Bridge on Saturday, before attacking revelers with knives, leaving seven people dead and 48 in hospital.
The assailants were shot dead at the scene.
Four police officers were among the injured, including one seriously injured.
