From behind the disguise of a golden mask, "Hip-Hop Man", a veteran hip-hop artist with over 20 years of experience in the US, has been appearing on the show “The Rap of China”. His rapping mixes Mandarin, English and Cantonese, thrilling audiences and judges. 

The seasoned Chinese-American rapper adopts the moniker in the hope of promoting, as well as taking in, the music and culture of China.

Hip-Hop Man told CGTN: “I found there is rap within every region in China. Even in two close cities, like Chongqing and Chengdu, there are different cultures, lifestyles, giving rise to different kinds of hip hop.”

“I always had a feeling that there are a lot of people who do hip hop here, I always felt that way. And it's true. This program makes people become aware of hip hop in China, that it’s been growing in China for a long time."
